Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Breaks Multiple Records Following Its Release
Beyoncé’s eighth album, Cowboy Carter, was released on March 29. Since then, it’s broken multiple records on the charts and streaming.
On March 29, Spotify announced via Instagram that Cowboy Carter holds the record for the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 so far. Also, this is the first time a country album has won this status this year. Amazon Music shared a similar update for the album. They revealed that Cowboy Carter‘s debut was the biggest in the streaming platform’s history.
In terms of charts, the album is performing incredibly. On release day, it debuted at number 2 on the Apple Music chart, according to CBS. It sits in the top spot and 26 of the 27 tracks currently dominate the streaming service’s Top 100 list.
One of the tracks, “Jolene,” a Dolly Parton cover, reigns above them all. The Hindustan Times reports that the song skyrocketed to number 1 on the US iTunes chart within minutes of its release. It surpassed Beyoncé’s song “II Most Wanted,” featuring Miley Cyrus.

“II Most Wanted” experienced immense success on the charts and among fans. A stunning collaboration between Beyoncé and Cyrus, the track details a story of lasting love and companionship. According to Today, the song reached number 1 on the Spotify charts and number 1 in the fans’ hearts. Cyrus herself expressed her joy and admiration for it, too.

Cowboy Carter includes collaborations with many iconic artists. Besides Cyrus, Willie Nelson and Post Malone contributed to various songs on the album. Additionally, Beyoncé highlighted other Black country artists on the project, such as Tanner Adell, Britney Spencer, and Linda Martell.
