Skyler White Is Now Receiving More Kindness From Breaking Bad Fans According to Anna Gunn
Anna Gunn discusses how fans of the hit TV series Breaking Bad are finally starting to give kindness to Skyler White after viewing the story from the character’s point of view.
The AMC series Breaking Bad, with Bryan Cranston portraying its protagonist Walter White, sent him down a darker path while introducing a host of drug dealers, killers, and general evil throughout its run.
The series skillfully wove together various narratives that explored the moral complexity of its characters while highlighting the hazardous world of meth production and trafficking.
However, viewers strongly criticize one character: Skyler, Walter’s wife. Skyler’s actions frequently sparked controversy and drew attention to the hazy boundaries between right and wrong in a world where crime rules, despite her best efforts to keep her family safe and manage the mayhem.
I think every breaking bad fan should be obligated to send Anna Gunn 87 billion dollars https://t.co/TNYx9MR1k0

As time passes, history is turning a little friendlier toward Skyler. Gunn, who portrayed Skyler White on the show from 2008 to 2013, discussed this change in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote her new Apple TV+ series Sugar.
Gunn recalls encountering criticism, primarily from the internet. However, she also observes a significant change in public opinion over the last ten years. The shift in perceptions of her persona reflects how social discourse evolves.
“It did become alarming when it turned violent,” she reminisces. “Sometimes, the comments could turn threatening or violent, and that concerned me. So I just didn’t want to feel bullied by all that, and I felt that it was my responsibility to stand up and answer to it, which is what I did.”
It's genuinely really nice to hear that Anna Gunn is finally getting positive affirmation from her time on Breaking Bad, she's said before she looks back at those times with sadness because of how the fans treated her afterwards but I hope that turns around. She's a good actress https://t.co/3CrAetnQJq

After Breaking Bad wrapped up, Gunn wrote an opinion piece titled “I Have a Character Issue” that appeared in The New York Times, discussing the influence of her character. In the opinion piece, she recounted her surprising experiences with Facebook groups and fan forums devoted to attacking her character, Skyler. Gunn acknowledged that she had not expected the degree of hostility her character had elicited from viewers and was surprised at the strong negative responses.
