Ariana Grande Exudes Etherealness in New MET Gala Look
We can’t be friends if you believe Ariana Grande’s 2024 MET Gala look isn’t one of the top gowns of the night. The singer and actress teased her outfit on her Instagram stories before walking the carpet, and she exceeded our expectations.
Designed by Jonathan Anderson for Loewe, the fashion house that also created Anna Wintour’s look for the night, Grande felt like a breath of fresh air as she descended the MET steps. Her gown starts with the “Mother of Pearl” bodice, paying homage to her birthstone and flows into an airy, long skirt, exuding regal beauty.
She pulled her hair back into her signature blonde ponytail, showcasing her neutral glam and the feather-like embellishments attached to her temples. Her highly anticipated return has taken fans’ breath away, with some taking to social media to call her “perfect” and “heavenly.”
She took to Instagram to thank her entire team for putting together the stunning result. “ Mother of Pearl @jonathan.anderson i love you, thank you my deepest thank yous to this Loewe team of art angels: @tylerjxckson, Pol Anglada, Justine Avril, Jena Eom, Elodie Padrao, Alicia Pasquet, Aurélia Welsch,” Grande posted.

The “supernatural” singer did not walk alone and instead took the carpet by storm with Wicked co-star Cynthia Ervio. They once again alluded to the “method dressing” concept, in which Grande opted for a lighter, more majestic look, much like Glinda.
On the other hand, the Broadway star donned a dark ensemble designed by Thom Browne. “It’s almost like I have run through a garden and things have fallen on me,” the Bad Times at the El Royale actress described.
On the steps, the two spoke with Variety about their looks, what to expect with the upcoming Wicked rollout, and what will happen during the night’s festivities, which, at the moment, does not include a performance from the two. But it’s not impossible. “It’s not too late to pull something together,” Grande joked.
Nonetheless, she praised her co-star for her exceptional performance in the upcoming film. “I mean, she just humanizes her [Elphaba] in such an extraordinary way,” the Glinda actress stated.
As Wicked hits theatres this November, fans can expect a lookbook of stunning outfits and glam – tonight is just the tip of the iceberg.
