Third Knives Out Film Announced With New Teaser
Get ready for a new Knives Out whodunit. On May 24, writer-director Rian Johnson teased the latest addition to the soon-to-be trilogy via X.
Knives Out and its sequel, Glass Onion, were smash hits at the box office, appealing to film fans and murder mystery enthusiasts. The iconic film series, starring Daniel Craig as murder detective Benoit Blanc, has revived the whodunit genre for the modern-day audience.
Johnson’s post of the official teaser is short, simple, and almost as mysterious as the Knives Out films themselves. As a knife cuts through the titles of the previous two myster-thrillers, Craig narrates with the accent of the southern-fried detective that fans know and love.

The No Time to Die actor expresses, “In the beginning, the knives came out. Then, behold, the glass shattered. But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed.” Simultaneously, a coffin fades in and out of frame, followed by the title of the long-awaited second sequel: Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
The exciting teaser leaves much to the imagination, merely revealing that the film will be coming to Netflix in 2025 and that Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc.
As news outlets slowly reveal new ensemble cast members, such as Josh O’Connor, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, and Kerry Washington, speculation continues regarding which other stars will be in the film.

Fans have taken to social media to share their excitement for the new film, and evidently, Johnson is just as excited for its release. On X, the filmmaker shared, “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”
