Lovely Runner follows characters Im Sol and Ryu Sun-jae. The official trailer’s description reads, “However, one day, she hears shocking news that Sun-jae has died a tragic death. Her whole world turns upside down and wakes up crying, only to find herself in the past, 15 years ago when Sun-jae is still alive. Sol takes up this chance and is determined to do her best to save Sun-jae.”
Netflix isn’t new to the Korean drama scene. In 2019, Netflix produced Love Alarm, the first Netflix Korean drama original series. Since then, the streaming platform has become a hub for the genre, producing major hit series like Squid Game, Queen of Tears, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Twenty-Five Twenty-One, and many more.
However, Lovely Runner originally aired on tvN and was developed by CJ ENM Global. Some fans wondered why it was not on Netflix, and other streaming platforms made fun of this on social media.
