Wicked Announces Official Release Date for Soundtrack and New Film Posters

Wicked season is almost upon us. As anticipation builds until November 22, the official soundtrack announced its release date with enchanting new posters.

Yesterday, Wicked announced tickets would be going on sale today for the film’s release on November 22. Fast forward to today, the film is having its largest promotion and media day announcing the official release date of the soundtrack. In addition to the soundtrack, fans were also able to hear another sneak peek of Ariana Grande singing as Glinda.

Wicked The Soundtrack will be released the same day as the film’s release. While tickets for the film are available for pre-order, fans can also pre-order the soundtrack in a variety of forms. From vinyls to CDs, no matter where you listen to music, Wicked will be there. On the official Wicked website, vinyls and CDs are available for purchase, with other major retailers joining in on the fun.

Fans can also pre-save the digital version of the soundtrack on Apple Music and Spotify in time for the release. Target will also have an exclusive vinyl and CD for purchase, as well as an exclusive clothing collection designed by Paul Tazewell, the film’s costume designer. With so many options to choose from and shop at, superfans are rejoicing for a wicked good time.

Towards the end of the reel posted by the soundtrack’s Instagram account, Grande’s vocals can be heard holding out a high whistle note. Fans were amazed by the singer’s angelic vocals, a magical addition to build excitement for the film. Besides pitch-perfect vocals, the film almost released posters to commemorate ticket sales and even more fan reactions, especially fans of the musical adaptation on Broadway.

Now, the day has finally arrived where Grande and Cynthia Erivo recreate the iconic Broadway poster. The oh-so-popular duo are in the signature poses, as Elphaba smiles with Glinda whispering into her ear. Ever since the announcement of the film, fans have been waiting for the duo to trace back to their Broadway roots. With almost one month away until the film arrives in theaters, the duo delivered. “YOU DID IT!!! Feels like a dream,” Wicked Musical Brazil commented.

To prepare for the film’s release, multiple theaters have released their own versions of posters to celebrate purchasing tickets. Experience the land of Oz in IMAX and other theaters by purchasing tickets online or in person. Each poster represents the magic of Wicked in a different way, whether it is a scene from the film or Elphaba and Glinda standing before Emerald City as their two worlds collide. Each theater will also include their own lineup of exclusive merchandise to purchase, from popcorn buckets to cups and posters.
