Olivia Rodrigo Talks Stardom in New Interview
Olivia Rodrigo, the chart-topping singer-songwriter, recently participated in an unexpected format for her interview with W Magazine: ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response).
Whispering into a microphone and sharing her thoughts on everything from the creative process to the success of her second album, GUTS, the singer brought fans into her world in a soothing yet intimate way.
The “Vampire” performer started the interview by discussing performing in the Philippines for her “GUTS World Tour.” It was the singer’s first time in the Philippines, a momentous occasion given her half-Filipino heritage. “I played a show there, and it was the biggest show of my career. Filipino people are incredible singers,” she nostalgically reflected.
"My family on my dad's side is Filipino. Just a month ago I got the opportunity to go for the first time. I played a show there and it was the biggest show of my career. […] Filipino people are incredible singers."

The concert was also a momentous occasion for her as an activist. She donated all tour proceeds from that concert to Jhpiego, a nonprofit organization for women’s healthcare.
The interview then shifted to discuss her inspiration for GUTS. She asserted, “I knew I wanted the album to be called GUTS even before all of the songs were written. I wrote this […] song called ‘Hate Your GUTS’ that didn’t make it to the album, but I really liked the way GUTS rolled off the tongue.”
She hinted that her third album could follow the same four-letter format as GUTS and SOUR, an exciting teaser for fans.
