A Look Into ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Ticket Sales
Ticket sales for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) installment, Captain America: Brave New World, began on January 20 and have already reached an impressive $95 million.
The film is set to release during the Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day holiday weekend on February 14. Its ticket revenue has already surpassed other recent superhero films such as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ($94.4 million), Black Adam ($67 million), and The Flash ($55 million).
The strong sales are no surprise, as the movie serves as a reboot of the Captain America franchise, now led by Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson. Mackie’s character took up the mantle of Captain America during the Disney+ limited series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
How Disney/Marvel Has Marketed The Film
On January 20, alongside ticket sales, Marvel Studios released new posters and trailers for the film. These promotional materials prominently feature Sam Wilson standing face-to-face with one of the film’s main antagonists: the Red Hulk. This marks the character’s much-anticipated debut in the MCU, quickly capturing the attention of superhero fans.

Actors/Characters Making Their MCU Debut
The action-packed film boasts an impressive roster of A-list actors making their MCU debut. Harrison Ford stars as United States President Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross, who also transforms into the Red Hulk. Giancarlo Esposito portrays Seth Voelker, also known as Sidewinder, the leader of the Serpent Society, a snake-themed criminal organization that serves as a formidable obstacle for Wilson.
Interestingly, Colby Daniel Lopez, better known as WWE superstar Seth Rollins, was originally set to appear in the film as Diamondback, another member of the Serpent Society. However, the role was ultimately cut during the film’s rewrites and reshoots.
“I wish it [the film] the best, but I am not a part of that film,” Lopez revealed during an interview with podcast host Chris Van Vielt. “The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots so what I was there to do, essentially got either repurposed or completely erased.”
Make sure to grab your tickets for Captain America: Brave New World at your local theater before they sell out.
