Netflix Unveils Cast for New Enola Holmes Film

Netflix confirmed the official cast of Enola Holmes 3 as production is underway in the United Kingdom.

Millie Bobby Brown returns as detective Enola Holmes, the younger sister of Henry Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes. Helena Bonham Carter is the head of the Holmes family, Eudoria Holmes. The rest of the cast includes Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Hamish Patel as Watson, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Mariarty.

The film’s logline reads, “Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.”

Based on Nancy Springer’s novels, the film franchise released its first installment in 2020. After achieving major success, Enola Holmes 2 came to Netflix in 2022. Shortly, the second film debuted at number one on the streaming platform’s global weekly viewings, collecting 68 million hours of viewing across 93 countries.

Jack Thorne wrote for the previous two films and also created the script for the third installment. However, Thorne replaced Harry Bradbeer, who directed the first two films, with director Philip Barantini.

Producers for the film include Brown for PCMA Productions, and Mary Parent, Ali Mendes, and Alex Garcia for Legendary Productions. Michael Dreyer, Jake Bongiovi, and Isobel Richards serve as executive producers for PCMA, and Joshua Grode for Legendary Entertainment.

Brown has worked on several projects with Netflix over the years. The Damsel actress rose to stardom in the hit series Stranger Things, where she portrays Eleven.The Netflix original series debuted in 2016 and achieved massive success. Production for the fifth and final season began in early 2024, and it’s expected to be released later this year.

A release date has not yet been confirmed, but fans can stream the first two films and all four seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix and purchase the books on Amazon.
