Wrestling legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars as a villainous character in DC Comics’ highly-anticipated film Black Adam. Fans get to smell what he’s cooking again but on steroids, as this time, he will be a powerful anti-hero.

Black Adam will be the latest DC Comics film adaptation by Warner Bros. which will tell a story about Shazam’s archnemesis. Although the release isn’t until next summer, DC fans are eager for updates.

The story will revolve around Teth-Adam, who was born as a slave in the nation of Kahndaq. 5,000 years later, he returns to the mortal world after breaking from the chains of a magical prison.

Moreover, the well-chosen cast joining Johnson includes Sarah Shahi as a university professor and a resistance fighter from Kahndaq named Adrianna Tomaz. Noah Centineo will play Atom Smasher, a member of Justice Society of America (JSA) with the power to transform his size and density. The film also features Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, the leader of The JSA, and Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson, aka Dr. Fate, who was chosen to defend the world from evil chaos.

In addition, Aladdin star Marwan Kenzari has also joined the cast with a mystery role that has yet to be revealed to the public. The highly-anticipated film will be directed by Jaume Collet-Sera and executive produced by Johnson himself along with Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Beau Flynn.

Black Adam will be premiering in theatres on Friday, July 29, 2022. To stay updated, follow the official Twitter account.
