Greta Gerwig Is Reportedly Writing New Disney Live-Action ‘Snow White’
The month of November has been exciting for fans of the upcoming Disney Live-Action remake of Snow White. The adaptation found its evil queen (Gal Gadot) and according to DisInsider, they have found their writer: Greta Gerwig.
On November 16, DisInsider was first to reveal that the highly anticipated Snow White remake will have two-time Academy Award-nominee Greta Gerwig as a writer. DisInsider reports that Gerwig is not just attached to the production; she penned the latest draft.

Aside from her next big project, the highly anticipated Barbie film that stars Ryan Gosling as Ken and Margot Robbie as Barbie, Snow White marks Greta’s first major project since Little Women. Gerwig is a great choice for this remake, given her take on reimagining a film as beloved as Little Women. Her version from 2019 featured a star-studded cast: Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird), Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Timothée Chalamet (Dune), Laura Dern (Big Little Lies), Emma Watson (Beauty and the Beast), and many others delivered memorable performances.
Little Women had been up for 6 Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Actress for Saoirse Ronan, and Best Supporting Actress for Florence Pugh). The film won an Oscar for Best Costume Design.

Gerwig’s work speaks for itself. As an actress, director, and writer, it will certainly be interesting to see how the Frances Ha actress will reimagine this classic story. DisInsider has also uncovered a character breakdown for Snow White. There will be a younger Latina actress that will evenly match up with Rachel Zegler (West Side Story). Back in June, it was revealed that Zegler will be portraying Snow White.

Now that Snow White has found its princess and villain, we cannot wait to find out who will be playing Snow White’s (Zegler) love interest.
