Kate Walsh announced on her Instagram that she will re-don her scrubs as Dr. Montgomery in Grey’s Anatomy.

Walsh’s post reads, “I’m back in uniform and that can only mean one thing… #GreysAnatomy 😏🩺 Thursday, May 5th! 💋 @GreysABC #Addison.” In the show, Dr. Addison Montgomery is a foremost neonatal surgeon once married to dreamy neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey).

Her character was first introduced in the finale of season one, throwing a wrench into the blossoming romance between Dr. Shepherd and surgical intern Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo). While attempting to repair her marriage after her infidelity with Derek’s best friend, plastic surgeon Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), she quickly became a respected and beloved member of the surgical staff. She spent two years on the show before starring in the spin-off series Private Practice, which ran from 2007 to 2013. Fans are quick to name Walsh’s character as one of the best in the series.

Speaking on her return to the show in October, Walsh discussed how emotional it was, stating, “All the feels…It was really beautiful. We reunited at the COVID test tent, and hugged each other with our masks on, and then went to go act with our masks on…Like going back to your hometown and your family and your first best job ever all at once. It was a lot, it was great.”

Fans of the show will be able to see their favorite surgeons again, as the show was recently renewed for a 19th season. Be sure to catch Walsh in upcoming episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, created by Shonda Rhimes, on Thursdays at 9 PM EST on ABC.
