On Thursday, July 21, Warner Bros. Pictures released the second official trailer of Don’t Worry Darling. The film, led by Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, will be in theaters across the U.S. on September 23, 2022.

According to the official synopsis, Don’t Worry Darling is a thriller set in a utopian community called Victory, located in California during the 1950s. Every male in the experimental town is employed by the secret Victory Project where people live a perfect life with all their needs met by the corporation. In providing for the community, all the company wants in return is loyalty and commitment to the Victory Project, no questions asked. However, the lead character, Alice (Pugh), finds cracks in their enjoyable idyllic life. Beneath the alluring façade provided by the seemingly glamorous company, evil lurks. Alice begins questioning what exactly her husband and others are doing for the Victory Project, and why. The story will gradually evolve as the plot centers in on Alice and her husband Jack (Styles). The intense trailer shows Alice and Jack becoming passionate with one another, as Alice begins to spiral in paranoia surrounding Jack’s job.

According to the official website of Don’t Worry Darling, the film’s director, Olivia Wilde, “directs from a screenplay penned by her Booksmart writer Katie Silberman, based on a story by Carey Van Dyke & Shane Van Dyke (Chernobyl Diaries) and Silberman.” Meanwhile, two-time Oscar-nominated director of photography Matthew Libatique (A Star Is Born and Black Swan) and Oscar-nominated composer John Powell (Jason Bourne) will join her behind the camera.

The thriller features a star-studded cast as well. Don’t Worry Darling stars Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, and Chris Pine. The headline act, Florence Pugh, once won the Oscar jurors‘ hearts with her superb performance in Little Women. With her role in Black Widow, the actress also made her entrance into the Marvel Universe. She had impressed viewers in Midsommar as well, and that performance allowed her the role of Alice in Don’t Worry Darling.

The popular Harry Styles will play the supporting role in the film. After enticing millions with his vocals, his acting career is now becoming equally successful. According to HSD, one of the biggest Harry Styles fan accounts on Twitter, “Both of Harry’s films being released this year will have their world premieres at prestigious film festivals.” Don’t Worry Darling will appear at Venice Film Festival, and My Policeman will appear at Toronto International Film Festival.

Fans are ecstatic about the new trailer and took to Twitter to express their excitement for the film. One user wrote, “Can’t wait for it!” Although, fans still have a few weeks left to wait before viewing the film. The film will first head to Venice Film Festival beginning in late August, and then, on September 23, fans across the U.S. can see the thriller in theaters.
