On Thursday, Sony released the first trailer for Whitney Houston’s biopic, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and fans have been talking about it ever since. In addition, Moonlight actor Ashton Sanders will embody the part of the artist Bobby Brown.

The synopsis for the film states, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody is a powerful and triumphant celebration of the incomparable Whitney Houston.”

Written by Anthony McCarten and directed by Kasi Lemmons (Harriet), the film, will follow Whitney’s life from the beginning of her iconic career, being signed to Arista Records through some of her most pivotal moments. Fans have expressed their excitement for the film, specifically Whitney Houston’s rendition of the National Anthem.

Houston’s Record Producer Clive Davis and her sister-in-law, Pat Houston, serve as producers on the upcoming film. Fans can also look forward to getting a look into Whitney’s relationship with ex-husband Bobby Brown and her mother, Cissy Houston, played by Law & Order star, Tamara Tunie.
