Halle Bailey Debuts The Little Mermaid Official Trailer at Oscars
Halle Bailey and Mellissa McCarthy joined each other at the Oscars stage to debut the trailer for The Little Mermaid, and it was magical.
We are just over two months away from the release of Walt Disney Studios’ new live-action adaption of The Little Mermaid. Days before the Oscars, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement for the film’s extended trailer.
At this year’s Annual Awards show, Halle Bailey showed up to the red carpet wearing a beautiful sea blue Dolce and Gabbana gown made just right for the Disney Princess. Bailey later joined McCarthy, starring as Ursula, to share the first complete look at the highly anticipated film.

In the trailer, Ariel, the youngest daughter of King Triton (Javier Bardem), feels curious about humans, and her desire to know more about the world beyond the sea is shown once saves a drowning Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King).
Although mermaids are prohibited from interacting with humans, Ariel is desperate for change and consequently makes a deal with Ursula, a decision that would come with a cost. Fans shared their excitement for the film online and were pleased to hear new music during the preview.
Tony Award-winning Hamilton star, Daveed Diggs, will be the voice of Sebastion in the film, while Good Boys Canadian actor, Jacob Tremblay will be the voice of Flounder. Bridgerton star, Simone Ashley will star as Indira, Jumanji: The Next Level‘s Awkwafina will portray Scuttle, and Encanto songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda will star as Le Chef Louis. The musical film was directed by Rob Marshall and aims to reimagine the 1989 film.
