Nicki Minaj teased the music video for her song “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” on Twitter and on her Instagram on March 15.

Minaj filmed the music video in her home country of Trinidad when she visited for Carnival. She looks stunning in a red kimono and a one-piece strapped dress in what looks like the backyard of a huge estate.

Fans loved Minaj’s body confidence in her video despite the hate she’s received recently.

Four and five days before she dropped the music video clip, she teased it on her Instagram with photos from the shoot.

Minaj released “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” her first single of the year, on March 3 and it’s already her second No. 1 debut on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs Chart, following “Super Freaky Girl.”

“Super Freaky Girl” also made history by being the first solo female rapper with a No. 1 Hot 100 debut since Ms. Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing).”

Minaj has been using a lot of samples in her music lately, starting with Rick James’ 1981 single “Super Freak” for her track “Super Freaky Girl.” Her new hit “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” samples Lumidee’s 2003 hit “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh).”

Minaj tied Drake for the third most #1 songs in U.S. Digital Song Sales with the success of “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” The music video could even help her secure her second solo #1 spot on the Hot 100.

At the time she released her new single, she also announced she was launching her own record label. She will be the first woman to own her own label. So far, she has signed Tate Kobang, Nana Fofie, Rico Danna, and London Hill.

Minaj’s fifth studio album NM5 will be released this year. So far, “We Go Up (ft. Fivio Foreign),” “Do We Have a Problem?” “Super Freaky Girl,” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” are rumored to be on the album.

Minaj has not confirmed the release date for the music video for “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” but you can definitely look out for it in the near future.
