Sony Releases New Trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Sony Pictures just released the new trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, featuring Daniel Kaluuya, Hailee Steinfeld, and Oscar Isaac.
Based on the Marvel comic books, the film will premiere on June 2 in theaters. Check out the trailer below.
After Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released in 2018, grabbing awards like the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film, the story needed to be continued in a second film.
Miles Morales will return in the next chapter of the story after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, the one and only Spider-Woman of her universe. Miles is once again thrown into the multiverse, encountering more of his kind that protects their existence. Altogether, the heroes cannot decide how to tackle a new threat, pitting Miles against the others. Miles must redefine his version of being a hero to protect his loved ones.
The returning cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, Hailee Steinfeld as Ghost-Spider (Spider-Woman), and Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara.
In the new film, you can expect to see Daniel Kaluuya voice a character named Spider-Punk. Kaluuya has garnered countless standout roles in films in recent years such as Get Out, Nope, and Judas and the Black Messiah. This will be his first role in an animated film, but the award-winning actor is sure to guarantee a great performance in the upcoming film. Kaluuya and the Spider-Verse saga both boast Academy Awards, but Kaluuya has also earned an Emmy nomination and BAFTA awards.
The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. The screenplay is written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Christina Steinberg will serve as producers and executive producers are Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman, Aditya Sood, Rebecca Karch, and Brian Bendis.
Look out for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in theaters on June 2. If it’s anything like its predecessor, it’s bound to be a good watch.
