More than a decade after its release, Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” is now certified diamond, becoming her third song to achieve this certification.

Released in 2008 as Lady Gaga’s debut single, “Just Dance” quickly became one of her signature songs. The electro and dance-pop tune topped the charts and became a beloved club anthem. Now 15 years later, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has given it a diamond certification- meaning the song has sold over 10 million copies in the U.S.

Many of Gaga’s fans, dubbed “little monsters,” celebrated on social media.

“Just Dance” became Gaga’s third song to accomplish this impressive feat. In 2015, the Grammy-award-winning star received two diamond certifications for “Poker Face” and “Bad Romance.” The former was the entertainer’s second single after “Just Dance.” They were both featured on her debut album, The Fame (2008). Meanwhile, “Bad Romance” was released in 2009 on The Fame Monster (2009), an extended reissue of the former album.

With this accomplishment, Gaga joins Katy Perry and Cardi B as the female artists with the most diamond-certified songs. Perry’s three songs to achieve this are “Firework,” “Roar,” and “Dark Horse.” For Cardi B, the songs to accomplish this are “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Girls Like You.”

This comes after an already exciting year for Gaga. In 2022, news broke that she would be joining the cast of Joker: Folie à Deux as Harley Quinn. Earlier this year, photos of the star in her role were released to immense buzz.

It is no surprise Gaga’s records have sold so many units. Her songs are incredibly well-crafted and catchy, respecting the pop genre, all while pushing it at the same time. We would not be surprised if another of her songs achieved diamond certification. Fans can read more exciting news about her here. And they can enjoy the music video for “Just Dance” below.
