Succession has had a historic four-season run. Sarah Snook has finally received a long-overdue Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Shiv Roy.

The Succession actress is in great company this award season. The Television Academy nominated Snook alongside Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us), and Keri Russell (The Diplomat).

Snook is now a three-time Emmy nominee. She previously received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2020 and 2022. Despite losing the Emmy, she was awarded the Golden Globe in 2022. The Television Academy nominated Snook among Jennifer Coolidge (White Lotus), Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick), Andie MacDowell (Maid), and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso).

Many have praised Snook’s performance in season 4, hoping she would advance to the Lead Actress category. Melanie Lynskey, who is also up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Shauna in Showtime’s Yellowjackets, praised the actress and her television brothers Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong for their strong performances.

Lynskey took to Instagram to share a photo of the Roy siblings in season 4, episode 3, titled “Connor’s Wedding.” Many viewers have cited the episode as “one of the greatest episodes in television history.” The Yellowjackets actress states, “All of them, every single one of them, are amazing. But SARAH SNOOK this episode… my lord. Sarah Snook for the last three seasons, too. She’s incredible.”

Congratulations to Sarah Snook on this well-deserved nomination. The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on September 18.
