The iHeartRadio Music Awards premiered on April 1, and it showed a variety of musical talents from throwbacks to now.

Ludacris hosted the 11 year show and performed some of his earlier songs for the star-studded crowd. The ceremony included exciting performances by Justin Timberlake, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Green Day, TLC, and Tate McRae.

Taylor Swift was among the nominees for this year. She scored nine in total, followed by Jelly Roll, SZA, and 21 Savage, each with eight nominations. Those musicians were also nominees for Song of the Year. The list also includes Luke Combs, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, Morgan Wallen, Doja Cat, and Rema, along with The Weeknd and Metro Boomin because of the collaboration they did with 21 Savage for the song “Creepin.”

Beyonce is this year’s winner of the Innovator award. The “Drunk in Love” singer looked stunning in a full leather western-style Versace archival outfit. The look was complete with golden emblems of Medusa on the outfit and a cowboy hat. The suit also featured crystal-embellished leather pants and a studded leather gilet featured in the Versace Fall-Winter 1992 collection.

Cher is this year’s Icon award winner. Not only has she sold over 100 million records in her career, but she is also the only artist to have a number one single on a Billboard chart for seven consecutive decades, for “DJ Play a Christmas Song.” Furthermore, She graciously accepted her award in pants that she has had for forty years.

Additionally, five categories were added to this year’s ceremony: Pop Song of the Year, which Miley Cyrus won for her song “Flowers;” Pop Artist of the Year, awarded to Taylor Swift; K-pop Artist of the Year, presented to Jung Kook; Best New Artist (also in the K-pop category), won by New Jeans; and K-pop Song of the Year, awarded to Cupid (Twin Version)-“FIFTY FIFTY.”

Moreover, this year’s audience was also star-studded, with everyone from musicians to actors present. Notable attendees include Flavor Flav, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Meryl Streep, Peso Pluma, Stevie Wonder, Meghan Trainor, JoJo Siwa, and GloRilla.

HeartRadio continues to award talented musicians for their contributions to music.
