Monsters rejoice. Lady Gaga is bringing her “Chromatica Ball” tour to Max in a new concert special. The HBO original premieres on May 25.

On May 8, HBO officially announced the Gaga Chromatica Ball concert film. Based on the pop icon’s 2022 “Chromatica Ball” tour, the film showcases Gaga “as you’ve never seen her before.”

Along with the announcement, the network put out a trailer for the special where viewers can get a first look at the “Applause” singer’s outstanding performance. The pop star stunned on stage, teasing an experience that is talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopping, and spectacular.

The concert was filmed at Dodger Stadium back in September 2022. The artist performed in front of a sold-out crowd of 52,000 people at the Los Angeles event. The special features many of the singer’s greatest hits, including “Poker Face,” “Just Dance,” and “Rain On Me.”

After its reveal, the A Star Is Born actress shared her thoughts about the special online. She wrote, “I’m so excited that we can finally share The Chromatica Ball film with the world.”

The singer-songwriter recalled the experiences on tour captured by the film. She expressed, “This film chronicles a time of immense creativity…the fashion, the dance, the music. Revisiting the tour leaves me speechless the way we had each other—you all showed up for music and art in a big way, and with a level of excitement and freedom that I will never forget.”

“Chromatica was colorful revenge. The chaos of it all became pure energy and life. With a texture best experienced live,” Gaga explained the music behind the production. She continued, “Self-acceptance is a theme that cuts through all my songs. I believe it is always possible to dig deep and find your greatness. Self-discovery is an art. Self-love is a practice.”

The “Bad Romance” singer then thanked her fans for their support. “I love you monsters more than I can say,” she expressed. The pop icon urged viewers to see themselves reflected onscreen. “See yourself in every vocal, every fabric choice, the choreography, every image…” the artist shared.

The performer further added, “Here’s the truth—no matter where life or my career has taken me, my time with you always is a path back to a very powerful part of myself. In a stadium filled with YOU it came to life. Thank you for that feeling.” She again emphasized, “I hope you will feel seen when you watch this film,” before revealing that she not only contributed onscreen but also edited the special. Gaga explained, “And know that I edited it carefully to honor you.”

Furthermore, HBO executive VP Nina Rosenstein praised the powerful artist. “Lady Gaga is a complete powerhouse. She’s a once-in-a-lifetime artist who never holds back, and ‘Gaga Chromatica Ball’ puts her endless list of talents on full display,” she revealed. “We’re thrilled to partner with her once again for this breathtaking concert special,” the executive continued.
