Chloe Bailey Unveils New Jaw-Dropping Music Video for Solo Debut Single ‘Have Mercy’
Chloe Bailey has dropped a scorching hot music video for her highly anticipated debut solo single, “Have Mercy.” The rising “it” girl added her own twist to the Ancient Greek mythological creature, Medusa, as she lured frat boys into her vivacious lear.
This past Friday, Chloe finally released the full music video for “Have Mercy,” and her on-screen performance left no crumbs.
Directed by Karena Evans, The eye-catching visuals featured Chloe putting frat boys into a lusty trance before turning them to stone, and guest star Tina Knowles is seen in a rather blink of an eye. This exciting release marks the beginning of Chloe’s career as a solo artist after the Chloe x Halle sister duo.
The 23-year-old is set to make her solo debut onstage at this year’s VMA’s, marking her first solo performance after stepping out on her own since Chloe x Halle. She told Billboard:
“I’m creating my own lane, as well as paying homage to the ones who have inspired me. It has been fun finding my voice.”
According to Billboard, the budding songstress has already snagged five Grammy Award nominations alongside her sister, Halle Bailey who has an upcoming highly anticipated project of her own with live-action film, The Little Mermaid.
After Halle went away to London for seven to eight months to film The Little Mermaid, Chloe gained her newfound confidence to push herself to complete her new solo project. In addition, she also sees herself branching out to a wide range of solo acting roles. Fans will be seeing Chloe star in her first serious role in the upcoming thriller, Jane. She told Billboard:
“I definitely see myself branching out into more acting roles. It’s another way to express myself, like how I do through music, and I can’t wait to take on more serious roles so people can really see that I actually love acting, and I take it seriously. For this movie, Jane, I’m so happy to be playing alongside Madelaine Petsch. She’s so talented, and she’s become my really good friend here on set.”
