Fans are certainly celebrating New Music Friday as Mitski released her 11-track record, Laurel Hell. The record is special for Mitski, who decided to commemorate the occasion with another music video, her fifth one in this new era.

Mitski first began teasing new music in Oct. Her much-needed surprise to the music scene inevitably made fans break the internet. She shared the first single and accompanying music video, “Working for the Knife,” on Oct. 5. The video is reminiscent of her Be the Cowboy era, as she is dressed as a cowboy, wearing a hat and spurs to complete the look.

In Nov., just one month after her new single, she shared another single titled “The Only Heartbreaker.” The track fittingly sounds like yet another heartbreaking song in her discography, but instead, it is an extremely uptempo dance track reminiscent of the 80s. However, in true Mitski fashion, her music video contains dark imagery.

Mitski shared the third single off Laurel Hell in Dec. titled “Heat Lightning.” The track serves as an ode to insomnia and would be Mitski’s last song until the new year. In Jan., she shared “Love Me More” with another accompanying music video.

On Feb. 4, Mitski released Laurel Hell and her fifth music video, “Stay Soft.” Many have noticed a reference to the 1986 film, Little Shop of Horrors, sending fans into a frenzy.

Congratulations to Mitski on an incredible new record. The singer is currently embarking on a sold-out tour supporting the record. In addition, Mitski is joining Harry Styles on his Love On Tour, opening up for the “Fine Line” singer. Laurel Hell is streaming on all major music platforms.
