Olivia Rodrigo Electrifies Audiences on ‘The Tonight Show’
Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo graced The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, delivering heartfelt and hilarious moments from her world tour.
The young artist, who skyrocketed to fame in early 2021 with her breakout single “Drivers License,” has continued to make waves in the music industry. During her time on the show, the singer opened up about her music, life in the limelight, and her “GUTS World Tour.”
Arriving in her signature red, she discussed her recent achievement as Billboard‘s Touring Artist of the Year. She shared this milestone with her fans on social media a few days ago, writing “thank u @billboard for naming me ur touring artist of the year!!! whatta honor.”
The artist also shared a hilarious story about being questioned by the Border Patrol. She recounts spending thirty minutes speaking to officers while traveling from Canada to Portland. However, the issue was resolved when it became evident these officers were looking for a different Olivia.
“Jimmy I was p*****, you didn’t look at the name on the interrogation paper. But crisis averted” she playfully recalled.

The “Vampire” singer reveals that although her “GUTS World Tour” was a huge success, “grossing 186.6 million according to Billboard Boxscore,” there were a few setbacks. She shared a harrowing story of falling through her stage while performing in Australia with Fallon. “I mean, the show must go on,” the performer declared after rewatching the video. That’s show business for you.”
However, the singer’s discussion of the magnificent locations she visited throughout her tour was one of the most powerful parts of the interview. The half-Filipino artist’s first trip to the Philippines was an incredible accomplishment “Everyone in the arena, they were singing in harmony. It was insane. They were singing my lyrics back to me.”
As an activist, her trip to the Philippines was particularly impactful. The concert’s net ticket sales were contributed to Jhpiego, a nonprofit organization that supports women’s healthcare.
The pop star effortlessly exhibited both genuineness and maturity during the chat. The singer’s “GUTS World Tour” concert film, currently accessible on Netflix, proves that the singer will continue to create meaningful and relatable music for many more years.
