MTV has announced the return of the VMAs, and fans can finally find out which of their favorite artists will be up for the top awards.

Justin Bieber will be leading with a total of seven nominations, with the hit song “Peaches” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon for Best Pop, Best Collaboration, and Best Editing. Next is Houston Hottie, Megan Thee Stallion who follows with six nominations with “WAP” featuring Cardi B, which smashed huge categories such as Video of The Year, Song of The Year, and Best Collaboration.

Additionally, Bieber and Megan were also nominated for Artist of The Year alongside Doja Cat, who was nominated for Video of The Year and Best Collaboration for “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA. Lastly, “Best Friend” featuring Saweetie and “You Right” featuring The Weeknd are up for Best Art Direction as well as Best Visual Effects.

Honorable mentions include Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande, who have also made it to the nomination list for Artist of The Year.

The VMAs will be returning to its original format as a live event since last year’s mix of semi-traditional awards shows moments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will air on Sunday, September 12, 2021, and will be available across MTV’s collection of networks, including MTV2, VH1, Paramount, Pop, The CW, CMT, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and TV Land.
