Lizzo Drops New Music Video for Latest Hit Single
Lizzo released the official music video for her new hit single “About D*mn Time” on April 14 and the vibes were electric. Rocking a glittery blue bodysuit, fabulous beehive updo, and white go-go boots, the Grammy winner stunned while singing this new summer anthem.
The video begins with the 33-year-old artist attending a “Stressed and Sexy” support group. When it’s her turn to address the audience, she immediately panics and runs into the hallway. But once she’s there, everything changes. Her confidence slowly begins to surface, and she bursts into song.
From there, the star ditches her gray sweatsuit and bare face for sultry glitz and glam. With a skin-tight ensemble and metallic makeup look, she treats the support group building like a full-on disco. The ground turns into a checkered dance floor. The janitors transform into backup dancers. Colorful lights flash all around. The singer herself walks on water.
On Instagram, Lizzo summed up the music video’s essence perfectly. “Have you been feeling stressed? Have you also been feeling sexy?” the songwriter wrote in her caption. “Well I got the remedy for you… I put my whole Lizussy in this one!… ABOUT D*MN TIME IS OUT NOW!”
The release of “About D*mn Time” wasn’t Lizzo’s only exciting event of the week. On April 16, the singer hosted Saturday Night Light and absolutely killed it. From attempting to break a curse word record on live television to twerking while playing the flute, the singer’s SNL debut was a hit. During the episode, she also performed “About D*mn Time” and her new single “Special.”
Lizzo’s list of accomplishments last week doesn’t end there. On April 12, the superstar launched her very own line of shapewear called Yitty. Created in partnership with Fabletics, the brand is focused on providing comfortable, functional pieces for people of all shapes and sizes.
“I’m selling a mentality that ‘I can do what I want with my body, wear what I want and feel good while doing it,’” the star revealed in a recent interview with the New York Times.
