Sza fans have been awaiting the release of “Shirt” for over a year after Sza gave fans a teaser at the end of her music video for “Good Days,” which premiered in March of 2021. She also performed the song on a live-streamed pre-recorded by one of the most well-known, best music blogs, Stereogum, in July 2021. Unfortunately, her new single “Shirt” was mistakenly released on Spotify last week and disappeared shortly after. This error sent fans in a frenzy, yearning for the song’s official release.

SZA posted a snippet of the music video on her Twitter with a simple caption, “Thursday 9 PM PST/ Friday 12 AM EST.”

SZA has also announced that her new song will be a collaboration with Doja Cat. In 2021, the duo collaborated on the track, “Kiss Me More,” which is about them kissing their love interests. The single instantly became a viral hit on social media, especially TikTok, and later won an MTV Video Music Award.”

To keep fans excited, SZA recently celebrated the five-year anniversary of her Ctrl album by dropping the deluxe version, which included a couple of new songs. These songs were written when SZA first put the record together but were never released.

The new songs on SZA’s deluxe Ctrl album are as follows: “Love Galore (Alt Version),” “2AM,” “Miles,” “Percolator,” “Tread Carefully,” “Awkward,” and “Jodie.” The almost 5-year-old album is still in great demand. The song, “Love Galore,” featuring Travis Scott, has been certified as a 6x multi-platinum record by the Recording Industry Association of America.

SZA is a popular artist because of her angelic voice and her music’s spin on the male-dominated R&B genre. Her lyrics tackle real-life issues and struggles she has encountered as a young black woman. Her songs “20 Something” and “Anything” are great examples of the internal struggles of being a minority.
