Congratulations are in order. Sarah Snook took home her first Golden Globe for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, for her work on Succession.

The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards were held on Sunday, January 7. HBO’s drama series, Succession, finished a historic four-season run with nine nominations. Sarah Snook, who embodied the role of Shiv Roy in the series, received her second Golden Globe last night. Moreover, the actress had previously submitted her work in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Before the actress took to the stage to receive her statuette, Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy) and Matthew Macfadyen (Tom Wambsgans), took home the Best Actor and Supporting Actor awards. This marked both Culkin and Macfadyen’s first Golden Globe wins. The series also took home Best Drama.

As Snook took the podium, she joked, “I was kind of hoping I didn’t have to get up! Kieran is usually better at the speeches. Do you want to get up instead? You take it instead.” She ends on a sentimental note, adding, “This show has changed my life, and everybody in it was amazing. The cast, the crew were fantastic. This was a team effort. It was always a team and that’s what made the show amazing, I think, to be part of.”

Snook won the award against Helen Mirren (1923), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us), Keri Russell (The Diplomat), Imelda Staunton (The Crown), and Emma Stone (The Curse).

Above all, congratulations to Sarah Snook on this well-deserved win. Furthermore, fans can relive the drama of Succession by streaming on Max.
