If you haven’t been on Twitter or TikTok, you could have missed all the biggest shocks and unresolved plots of the Euphoria season two finale this Sunday. You might be the only one, considering Euphoria is now HBO’s second most-watched show behind Game of Thrones. But, if you spent your Sunday glancing between your TV and clock during Elliot’s four-minute serenade, you’re in good company. Here are six Euphoria plots that won’t come to fruition until 2024.

Spoiler Alert: This story includes spoilers from HBO Max’s Euphoria. Its season finale premiered Sunday, February 27.

  1. Fezco’s Fate

We all felt for Fezco (Angus Cloud) when, instead of seeing Lexi’s (Maude Apatow) Stand by Me inspired play, he suffered the tragic loss of his little brother. Being a fan favorite, it’s a given that Fez will survive his gunshot wound. Still, the SWAT team saw him holding the murder weapon Ash (Javon Walton) used to kill Custer (Tyler Chase). On top of losing Ashtray, will Fez spend part of season three in prison? It’s hard to consider any possibilities right now with the loss of our favorite young Bitcoin enthusiast fresh on our minds. Just look at the heartbreaking parallel one Euphoria fan account tweeted.

2. What’s will happen to #Fexi?

Almost all romantic relationships crashed and burned this season: Maddy and Nate (Jacob Elordi), Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate, the love triangle between Rue, Elliot (Dominic Fike), and Jules (Hunter Schafer), Ethan (Austin Abrams) and Kat’s abrupt falling out… The one that ship that stood the test of time? Fexi. The late-night phone calls, teary-eyed movie marathons, and hand-holding won the hearts of basically everyone watching. But, thanks to the events listed in point one, Fez never made it to Lexi’s production. Lexi still dedicated the play to him, so we can assume there are no harsh feelings about him not showing up. But will Lexi find out what happened to Fez? And when will we find out what the note says?

3. The Repercussions of the Suitcase

Laurie (Martha Kelly) is perhaps one of the most frightening characters of season two. Her calm demeanor but sinister motives are worrisome enough, but subtly threatening to sell Rue (Zendaya) for the suitcase money takes the cake. Fans have many theories about Laurie. Some say she gave the suitcase to Rue, knowing she wouldn’t pay her back. Remember that time she called Rue her full name, “Ruby” Bennett? There are also countless TikToks about the symbolism behind all those birds. One thing is certain: we haven’t seen the last of Laurie or her crew.

4. What Will Happen to Faye?

When Custer revealed to Faye that he was cooperating with the police about Fez and Ash’s connection to Mouse’s (Meeko Gattuso) disappearance, it was unclear where her loyalties lay. She came through in the finale, subtly tipping Fez off about Custer and quickly shifting the blame to Laurie. Hopefully, this won’t get her into trouble. The last we see of Faye is when the SWAT team swarms the apartment. Chloe Cherry, who played Faye, quickly became a fan favorite, though, so we may see her again.

5. Everything With Cal

One of the biggest cliffhangers of the finale, Cal’s (Eric Dane) arrest opens a treasure trove of possibilities for season three. How will Jules be involved? Will Sam Levinson bring back Tyler from season one to stir the pot? A reminder: Nate and Maddy framed Tyler last season, and Jules lied to help put him in jail. There’s a lot to unpack before the next season premieres in 2024.

6. Maddy’s Future

Euphoria High put Maddy (Alexa Demie) through it this season. Her best friend got with her ex, even though they “weren’t together,” and said ex traumatized her even more than in season one if that was possible. Maddy’s no angel, but she’s grown a lot in two seasons. And after long, luxurious talks with her boss, we learn that Maddy is planning to move away. Still, we haven’t seen anyone graduate yet, so where is she planning to go?

7. Everything About Kat

Kat’s (Barbie Ferreira) screen time in season two was minimal compared to the first. It seems camming is a thing of her past, and she’s flying solo after breaking things off with Ethan. Where is Kat’s character going next?

We won’t receive any resolution until season three premieres in 2024, so you can find us rewatching the show on a loop until then.
